This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Locums Experience Manager (Temp) based in United States.
This is a fully remote, approximately six-month opportunity focused on delivering an exceptional experience for locum tenens physicians and advanced practice providers.
You will serve as a trusted point of contact throughout assignments, helping providers navigate complex operational and service-related challenges.
The role combines high-touch relationship management with critical thinking, sound judgment, and proactive problem solving.
You’ll work closely with Recruitment, Account Management, Billing, Payroll, Travel, Legal, Credentialing, and other teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Success requires balancing provider needs with operational requirements, policies, client commitments, and potential business or compliance risks.
You’ll also have an opportunity to identify recurring challenges and recommend improvements that strengthen processes and the overall provider experience.

- Serve as a primary support resource for locum tenens physicians and advanced practice providers, building trusted relationships and delivering a consistently high-quality provider experience.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve provider, placement, travel, itinerary, payment, and assignment-related issues with urgency, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.
- Manage complex situations through the Locums review process, using sound judgment to determine when additional investigation, consultation, or escalation is appropriate.
- Balance provider experience and operational needs with company policies, client requirements, and potential business or compliance risks.
- Act as a liaison between providers and internal teams, partnering regularly with Recruitment, Account Management, Billing, Payroll, Travel, Legal, Credentialing, and other stakeholders.
- Proactively identify potential challenges that could affect assignments and coordinate with the appropriate teams to address them before they escalate.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with providers and internal stakeholders when managing sensitive, complex, or time-critical situations.
- Contribute ideas and practical solutions that improve provider support, increase team efficiency, reduce recurring issues, and enhance the overall locums experience.
- Work independently while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration and consistent follow-through on commitments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, with significant experience in customer service, client services, account management, provider support, or another high-touch service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with diverse personalities, customers, providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong critical-thinking, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to independently assess complex situations and recognize when escalation is warranted.
- Proven experience handling challenging or sensitive customer situations with empathy, professionalism, confidence, and appropriate directness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain issues and solutions clearly to both providers and internal partners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multiple departments and functions.
- Adaptable, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through.
- A genuine client- and provider-centered mindset and a passion for creating exceptional service experiences.
- Preferred: Experience supporting physicians, advanced practice providers, or other healthcare professionals.
- Preferred: Background in locum tenens, healthcare staffing, travel, hospitality, or another high-touch service environment.
- Preferred: Experience resolving complex provider or customer issues involving multiple internal stakeholders.
- Compensation: $31.25–$36.06 per hour, with the potential range varying based on relevant experience and other factors.
- Temporary assignment: Approximately six months in duration.
- Remote work: Fully remote position within the United States.
