Shareholder Engagement Coordinator

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Department: Workforce & Shareholder Development
Reports To: Workforce & Shareholder Development Manager
Status:

Help Build Alaska's Future Workforce

Donlin Gold is advancing one of the world's largest undeveloped gold deposits, located in Southwest Alaska. The Project represents a unique opportunity to help develop a skilled regional workforce while fostering meaningful relationships with shareholders, communities, educational institutions, and workforce development partners throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim region.

As a member of the Workforce & Shareholder Development team, you will play a key role in supporting career pathways, workforce readiness initiatives, and employment opportunities that help connect shareholders and regional residents to the future workforce needs of the Donlin Gold Project.

What You'll Do

Community & Shareholder Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowner shareholders, descendants, families, communities, tribal organizations, village corporations, schools, training providers, and workforce development partners.
  • Serve as an on-the-ground regional representative for Donlin Gold's Workforce & Shareholder Development initiatives.
  • Conduct outreach activities that increase awareness of Donlin Gold employment, internship, apprenticeship, and career development opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with individuals interested in workforce development and employment opportunities.
  • Represent Donlin Gold professionally at community meetings, events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements throughout the region.

Workforce Development & Recruitment Support

  • Assist individuals in identifying training, education, workforce readiness, and employment pathways aligned with Project opportunities.
  • Support recruitment outreach efforts focused on increasing shareholder and regional participation in Donlin Gold workforce opportunities.
  • Help individuals understand employment qualifications, workforce readiness expectations, and career development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with schools, workforce organizations, and training providers to promote workforce development programs and opportunities.
  • Identify workforce barriers, skills gaps, and training needs and communicate findings to the Workforce & Shareholder Development team.

Outreach & Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and participate in career fairs, school visits, workforce development events, regional conferences, and community outreach activities.
  • Support planning and implementation of workforce and shareholder development initiatives.
  • Work closely with Human Resources, Recruitment, Training & Development, and other departments to support future workforce planning efforts.
  • Promote positive relationships between Donlin Gold and regional stakeholders.

Reporting & Program Support

  • Track workforce and shareholder engagement activities and outcomes using established systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referrals, workforce interests, training participation, and employment outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and outreach summaries as requested.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to workforce development and shareholder engagement programs.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in workforce development, community engagement, recruiting, shareholder services, education, training, community relations, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim region and to the Donlin Gold Project site as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Workforce Development, Education, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working with rural Alaska communities, tribal organizations, village corporations, or regional Alaska Native organizations.
  • Experience coordinating outreach programs, workforce initiatives, educational programs, or community events.
  • Knowledge of the Yukon-Kuskokwim region, its communities, cultures, organizations, and workforce environment.
