Our English Language Teaching (ELT) business in Brazil continues to grow, and we are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our Brazil team. This position is based in São Paulo City.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and relationship-focused professional to contribute to the growth of our ELT business in Brazil.

The Business Development Executive will play a key role in driving customer acquisition, strengthening strategic partnerships, and expanding Oxford University Press’ presence within the Brazilian ELT market. The role requires a proactive and results-oriented professional capable of identifying opportunities, managing complex customer relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth.

Reporting to the Sales leadership team, the Business Development Executive will work closely with internal stakeholders, distributors, schools, institutions, and partners to strengthen customer engagement and support business objectives across the region.

The role requires frequent engagement with customers and partners across Brazil, including travel when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities within the ELT and education market in Brazil
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, educational institutions, distributors and key stakeholders
  • Execute sales and business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Own and actively manage a commercial pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion of opportunities
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activity and customer needs
  • Deliver presentations, product demonstrations and commercial proposals to customers and partners
  • Support the achievement of revenue and performance targets through proactive pipeline management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Maintain accurate records and sales activity using CRM systems and internal reporting tools
  • Use CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage pipelines, customer engagement and sales activity
  • Participate in industry events, conferences and customer meetings to promote the OUP brand and solutions
About You

We are looking for a proactive, customer-oriented professional who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent relationship management skills.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably within education, English Language Teaching (ELT), publishing or learning solutions sectors
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in Portuguese and English
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage customer activity and pipelines
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the Brazilian education and ELT market
  • Experience working with distributors, private schools or educational institutions
  • Experience in B2B sales and consultative selling approaches
  • Experience working in an international or matrix organisation
