SUMMARY:
MCAD is seeking a Printmaking and Paper Studio Technician. This position is responsible for assisting the MCAD Printshop and Paper Studio Director by providing technical, curricular, and administrative support for MCAD students/faculty and staff. The Printmaking and Paper Studio Technician must be sensitive to college needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an employer and educational institution.
DETAILS: This is a part time, non-exempt position expected to work 25 hours a week. This position reports to Printshop and Paper Studio Director and is paid $23.01 hourly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting the Printshop and Paper Studio equipment.
- Assist with fabricating major studio building projects.
- Assist with demonstrating print, paper, book processes.
- Assist with communicating proper safety procedures and updating Safety Data Sheets.
- Act as a technical resource for students during open hours.
- Assist with Printshop and Paper Studio Special events and workshops.
- Assist with specific preparation for classes.
- Assist with test plates and prints.
- Assist with supply purchases from local vendors.
- Collaborate with various departments of the college in relation to Printshop and Paper Studio support of college initiatives.
- Provide training of and delegation of tasks to student workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, required; Master’s degree, preferred.
- Two (2) years experience in advanced printmaking, papermaking, and bookmaking, required.
- Studio experience, training, or coursework in screen printing, intaglio, lithography, woodcut, photogravure, papermaking, print installation, print media, bookbinding, and letterpress, required.
- Advanced experience using tools and equipment in a woodshop to create, fix and maintain PPB studio equipment, required.
- Valid driver's license, required.
- Experience working within a higher education environment, preferred.
- Strong problem solving skills, communication skills and technical aptitude, strongly preferred.
- Computer skills, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Docs, preferred.
- Ability to work well independently and with others, as well as with various personality types, preferred.
