About the Role
Surgical Specialists of Charlotte is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This role will assist with a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, compliance, employee engagement, and HR program support.
The HR Generalist will work closely with employees, managers, and leadership to help deliver consistent, responsive, and effective HR support across the organization. Key Responsibilities
The Human Resources Generalist will support HR operations in the following areas:
Recruitment and Onboarding
• Screen candidates through the applicant tracking system.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
• Participate in candidate interviews as needed.
• Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment screenings.
• Schedule and support new hire orientation.
• Enter new hire information and paperwork into the HRIS system.
• Ensure all new hire paperwork and benefit enrollment documents are completed accurately and timely.
Benefits and Employee Support
• Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs.
• Respond to employee questions related to benefits, HR policies, and general HR matters.
• Ensure timely and accurate benefits enrollments, updates, and changes.
• Provide excellent customer service to employees and managers.
Employee Relations and Performance Management
• Assist with employee relations matters and help support resolution of workplace concerns.
• Participate in investigations when necessary.
• Track annual performance reviews and assist with related follow-up.
• Promote a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture.
HR Operations, Compliance, and Recordkeeping
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
• Maintain employee files and ensure strong recordkeeping practices.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Assist with audits, documentation requests, and HR reporting needs.
• Support the development, implementation, and improvement of HR programs and processes.
Employee Engagement and HR Initiatives
• Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, and HR communications.
• Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and program implementation.
• Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
• Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience using HRIS and/or applicant tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
