Solutions Development Architect : Datacenter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Development Architect : Datacenter based in United States.

This role is a key technical pre-sales and solution design position focused on translating complex client requirements into fully engineered, executable infrastructure solutions. The Solutions Development Architect will operate at the intersection of sales, engineering, and delivery teams, shaping end-to-end data center, network, and hybrid infrastructure solutions for enterprise clients. The role requires strong technical depth, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, structured workflow environment. It offers high visibility across client engagements, from discovery through to final proposal and delivery handoff. Working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional setting, the architect will influence solution quality, cost accuracy, and delivery success across diverse technology environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and support technical discovery sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to capture requirements, constraints, risks, and project objectives.
  • Design scalable infrastructure solutions across data center, structured cabling, network, cloud, hybrid, security, and collaboration environments.
  • Develop detailed Statements of Work, labor estimates, BoMs, and technical proposals aligned with client needs and delivery feasibility.
  • Validate pricing inputs, subcontractor quotes, and technical assumptions to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Manage Salesforce-based case workflows from intake through solution development, review cycles, PMO validation, and client sign-off.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation including diagrams, rack elevations, and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, PMO, vendors, and clients to ensure alignment across scope, risks, and delivery expectations.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal reviews and continuously refine solution packages and documentation.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, infrastructure engineering, or technical project management.
  • Strong background in data center infrastructure, structured cabling, network design, migrations, and site readiness planning.
  • Proven experience producing SOWs, technical proposals, labor estimates, BoMs, and scoping documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical artifacts such as floor plans, rack diagrams, and vendor quotes.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM/case management systems in structured workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce client-ready technical and commercial documentation.
  • Proficiency in tools such as SharePoint, Visio, Lucidchart, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Slack.
  • Experience collaborating across sales, engineering, vendors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, VMware, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as BICSI, RCDD, PMP, AWS, or VMware are a plus.
