Responsibilities

Hines Luxembourg Investment Management Sarl is looking to recruit an Associate – Corporate finance. Reporting to the Corporate Finance Director you will support our day-to-day finance activities of the management company. The role is based in Luxembourg.

  • Oversee maintenance of the general ledger in J.D Edwards for management companies and ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial records.
  • Review of bookkeeping prepared by the service provider.
  • Prepare and reconcile inter-company accounts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of quarterly bond reporting.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of the tax returns, monthly/ annual VAT returns prepared by tax advisors.
  • Prepare management accounts, own, and run the quarterly cost allocation process. Calculate income fees. Oversee issuance of invoices.
  • Maintain close working relationship with internal stakeholders such as the fund finance teams, legal, compliance, treasury, etc.
  • Prepare the Annual Accounts under LuxGaap and UK Gaap.
  • Perform analysis, make recommendations, prepare responses on accounting matters.
  • Monitor and ensure that all deadlines are met as agreed with the Corporate Finance Director.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide full support for auditing and review of financial statements.
  • Prepare information and promptly answer queries for audits, as needed.
  • Ensure regular reporting requirements are completed both accurately and within deadlines.
  • Understand accounting, tax and reporting implications of contracts and other legal documents including board minutes, shareholder resolutions, loan agreements etc.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and assume additional responsibilities as part of development.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • University degree with an emphasis in accounting, business, or economics
  • CPA or ACCA qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Possess a strong knowledge of Lux GAAP/IFRS/ UK GAAP.
  • 5 + years of relevant experience (big 4, AIFM experience would be an asset).
  • Understanding the conceptual framework of real estate investment and investment management more broadly would be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the MS Office suite, most particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while adhering to strict deadlines and producing high quality work.
  • Ability to prioritize, demonstrate flexibility.
  • Work in an organized, structured, and efficient manner with appropriate attention to detail.
  • Eager to work for a rapidly growing real estate firm.
  • Able to work in a multinational team effectively and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with confident fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Interest in digitalization / IT technology.Ability to relate well to other people at all levels, internally and externally. Culturally sensitive. Display passion and energy, creating a positive working environment.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated, and adept at using your own initiative to be most effective.
  • Exceptional confidence, independence, and interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment.
