Caregiver (In-Home Care) – Pocatello, ID

Happy to Help Caregiving is actively seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide one-on-one, in-home support for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities throughout Pocatello, Chubbuck, and nearby Southeast Idaho communities.

Why This Role Matters

As a caregiver, you'll provide non-medical support that allows clients to continue living with dignity and independence in the place they know best—their home. Every visit has the potential to improve someone's quality of life through companionship, encouragement, and personalized assistance.

What You'll Do

Depending on each client's individualized care plan, responsibilities may include:

  • Providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support
  • Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
  • Preparing meals and snacks and assisting with feeding when needed
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and maintaining a safe living environment
  • Providing medication reminders (no medication administration)
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and use of mobility equipment
  • Providing transportation to appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and community activities
  • Supporting family caregivers through respite care services
  • Documenting care provided and communicating changes in client condition
  • Promoting independence while respecting each client's preferences, routines, and dignity

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional care.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
  • Comfortable providing personal care and mobility assistance

Preferred:

  • Previous caregiving, CNA, healthcare, home care, or customer service experience
  • Experience working with seniors, veterans, or individuals with disabilities

No prior caregiving experience? We welcome candidates with a strong work ethic, caring attitude, and willingness to learn.

  • Location: Pocatello, Chubbuck, and surrounding Southeast Idaho communities
  • Type: In-home, non-medical caregiving
  • Schedule: Full-time, part-time, evening, weekend, and flexible shift opportunities available
  • Work Environment: One-on-one care in private residences
