Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. We are currently seeking a Material Handler to add to our growing team.

Position Summary & Objective

The Material Handler supports warehouse and operations activities by ensuring the accurate receiving, handling, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment used in the manufacturing and servicing of custom HVAC systems. This role is critical to maintaining material availability for production, project execution, and service needs in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Store materials in designated locations, including HVAC components (e.g., coils, sheet metal, motors, and electrical parts)
  • Maintain accurate inventory through proper labeling, storage, and system tracking
  • Pick and prepare materials for production, internal departments, job sites, and service teams
  • Ensure materials are safely stored and handled in compliance with company standards
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities; report discrepancies as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with safety regulations
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, supervisors, procurement, and production teams to meet material needs
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and report equipment issues or maintenance needs
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, material handling, or similar role preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing or working with HVAC/mechanical components is a plus
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
  • Familiarity with inventory control and material tracking processes
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP or inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices and standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if applicable to role)
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials for extended periods

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (assistance required for heavier items)
  • Work performed in warehouse and manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots and safety glasses
