As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Claims & Performance Specialist to join our QHSE+ team.
Position SummaryThe Claims & Performance Specialist is responsible for managing workplace injury, illness, disability, and workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through closure while protecting the organization's claims performance, experience rating, and overall risk profile.
This role combines claims management, return-to-work coordination, disability management, and performance analytics to support cost reduction, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Role Allocation- 70% Claims Management, Disability Management & Return-to-Work Coordination
- 20% Analytics, KPI Development & Performance Reporting
- 10% Incident Investigation & Compliance Support
- Manage workplace injury and disability claims from initiation to closure.
- Coordinate with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, insurers, and workers' compensation boards (CNESST, WSIB, WCB, WorkSafe, etc.).
- Develop and monitor modified-duty and return-to-work programs.
- Support claim reviews, appeals, and cost-containment initiatives.
- Develop and maintain claims, incident, and performance dashboards.
- Track key metrics including claim frequency, severity, costs, lost-time incidents, claim duration, and return-to-work performance.
- Analyze trends and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve outcomes.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for management.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Support internal audits, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with COR, ISO, and other management systems as required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims, disability management, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation boards and return-to-work programs.
- Experience working with healthcare providers, rehabilitation specialists, insurers, and compensation boards.
- Strong analytical skills with experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience.
- Internal auditing and regulatory compliance experience.
- Experience supporting COR or ISO management systems.
- Experience in construction, utilities, telecommunications, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
