Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer shall be responsible for leading multiple efforts for system configurations maintaining authority to operate. The Cybersecurity Engineer conducts information system security engineering activities, such as capturing and tracking evolving information security requirements and ensuring the system maintains a strong security posture through purposeful design and configuration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Experience interpreting, implementing, and maintaining DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across Windows, Linux, network, and virtualization platforms.
Plan, implement, upgrade, and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to maintain and improve the system’s cybersecurity posture.
Work with a software team to ensure code is designed securely throughout development.
Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities of releases for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure appropriate security controls are in place during development and in fielded systems.
Proactively engage with software and system release planning to advocate for designing a system that is secure and technically relevant.
Required Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Six or more (6+) years of Experience in Cyber Security, Systems Engineering or related field
Five or more (5+) years of NIA or NSA RMF experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include Assessment and Authorization requirements.
Information Assurance (IA) Level I or higher certification (e.g., A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, SSCP)
Two or more years of experience with Tenable Security Center and Nessus.
Two or more years of experience with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker (SCC).
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 4 or Rev 5.
Strong interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, and professional demeanor.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Candidate must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity and, three or more (3+) years of experience with NIA or NSA RMF experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include Assessment and Authorization requirements.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $165,000-185,000 annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, standing, and walking.
