This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of an advanced AI-driven geospatial intelligence platform that transforms complex satellite and spatial data into actionable insights for global industries. You will work across the full stack, building scalable web applications, APIs, and data-intensive backend services that support real-time analytics and decision-making. The environment is highly collaborative and innovation-driven, bringing together engineers, data specialists, and product teams to solve complex technical challenges. You will help design and implement systems that process large-scale geospatial datasets and power customer-facing applications used across finance, energy, and defense sectors. This is a fully remote position with occasional coordination across distributed teams and potential on-call responsibilities. The role is ideal for a senior engineer who thrives in fast-paced, data-heavy environments and enjoys working on impactful, real-world problems.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end software solutions that support large-scale geospatial intelligence workflows and data-driven applications.
- Build and maintain scalable full-stack applications, including frontend interfaces, APIs, and backend services supporting geospatial data products
- Design and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval of large-scale spatial and satellite datasets
- Contribute to the development of geospatial analytics and algorithms deployed within containerized cloud environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, implement features, and deliver high-quality releases in an agile setting
- Participate in system architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions to ensure maintainable and efficient solutions
- Support UX considerations by contributing to interface design and ensuring strong user experience across applications
- Stay current with emerging technologies and apply best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure
This position requires strong full-stack engineering expertise, experience working with modern cloud-native systems, and the ability to thrive in collaborative, remote-first environments.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with both frontend and backend development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Python, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React and related frontend tooling
- Experience building and deploying microservice-based architectures and working with RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, ECR, and DynamoDB
- Solid understanding of DevOps tools including Git, Docker, and virtualized development environments
- Experience working with data-intensive or geospatial systems is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a distributed team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Competitive salary range of $140,000–$170,000 depending on experience
