Our Bankers play an essential role in representing The Bank of Tampa’s brand throughout our community. As a Commercial Relationship Associate, you help strengthen these relationships by learning our clients’ financial needs, supporting their day‑to‑day banking activities, and contributing to a positive client experience with every interaction. In this developing role, Commercial Relationship Associates build foundational expertise across key banking services—including credit, treasury services, and depository solutions—while gaining exposure to the consultative approach that defines our client relationships. Through hands‑on learning and collaboration with senior team members, Commercial Relationship Associates grow into trusted partners who help deliver value to our clients and support the long‑term success of our community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in sales calls and client meetings in support of commercial banking to develop new business and help retain existing relationships
- Assist in consulting with clients and prospective clients and provide recommendations for bank services under guidance of senior bankers
- Support the needs of clients seeking business-related financial services, including assisting with credit analysis and recommendations within established guidelines
- Gather and analyze information from potential clients regarding their business, financial needs, and creditworthiness to support lending decisions
- Stay informed on market conditions and industry trends to support portfolio growth and client conversations
- Participate in community banking efforts within an assigned Market or Office by helping to build referral relationships and engaging in local organizations
- Communicate effectively in both formal and informal settings with team members, leadership, and clients
- Assist in maintaining the credit quality of assigned loan portfolios

Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related field
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BS or BA), preferably with a business or finance focus, or equivalent experience
- Exposure to commercial, business, or retail banking
- Basic understanding of credit principles and financial statements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, as local travel may be required (approximately 20-60% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in credit analysis, lending, or financial services
- Involvement in professional, academic, or community organizations (e.g., Chamber of Commerce events, networking groups)
- Interest in developing sales, relationship management, and credit skills
