District Works is seeking reliable, safety-focused, and community-minded professionals to join our team as Pressure Washing Place Managers. This hands-on field position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of public spaces through high-quality pressure washing and sanitation services. Team members operate commercial pressure washing equipment to remove gum, grease, debris, stains, and biohazards from sidewalks, plazas, transit areas, alleys, and public infrastructure while upholding environmental, operational, and safety standards. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in public space stewardship, enjoy active outdoor work, and consistently demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and Radical Hospitality in community-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial pressure washing equipment safely and effectively
- Remove gum, stains, grease, debris, and biohazards from sidewalks and public spaces
- Clean public infrastructure, including trash enclosures, plazas, transit areas, and sidewalks
- Set up and break down work zones using cones, signage, and safety barriers
- Inspect hoses, tanks, pumps, and equipment daily before operation
- Refill water tanks and maintain pressure washing vehicles and equipment
- Follow environmental compliance standards and proper wastewater procedures
- Complete daily work assignments, photos, and reporting through company devices
- Identify and report hazards, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive public presence at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in pressure washing, maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, or related field work
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean DMV record (required)
- Be over the age of 25 and have at least 1 year of business driving experience (requirement of our fleet insurance)
- Experience operating pressure washing equipment or similar machinery preferred
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs, walk 10+ miles daily, bend, kneel, and work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts when required
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and equipment operation
- Ability to use smartphones or tablets to clock in/out, take photos, and complete reports
- No unexplained job gaps longer than 6 months

- Wears all required PPE, including eye protection, gloves, boots, hearing protection, and reflective gear
- Follows all equipment operation and job site safety procedures
- Maintains clean, organized, and operational equipment and vehicles
- Reports incidents, hazards, or equipment concerns immediately
- Device-free while actively working (no phones or music during operations)
- Maintains professional grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards daily

Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification (preferred, not required)
- Experience working in Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), Community Benefit Districts (CBDs), or public works environments
- Experience operating hot water or steam pressure washing systems
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities strongly preferred (Spanish or Cantonese)
- Experience working in urban environments, transit systems, or high pedestrian areas
