Job Description

Principal Product Manager - Verification & Activation(Exchange)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Product Manager - Verification & Activation (Exchange) in Australia.

This is a high-impact product leadership role responsible for owning the end-to-end user journey from identity verification through to first trade activation on a global cryptocurrency exchange. You will define and optimize the critical funnel where users transition from onboarding to becoming active traders, directly influencing conversion, retention, and platform revenue. The role spans identity verification (KYC), re-verification flows, fiat and crypto deposits/withdrawals, and activation mechanics that drive first trades. You will operate at the intersection of product, compliance, risk, and engineering, shaping systems that balance regulatory constraints with seamless user experience. This is a deeply execution-focused role requiring strong ownership, fast decision-making, and the ability to drive alignment across complex stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced, global, and highly data-driven, with significant scale and visibility across millions of users.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the end-to-end verification and activation journey, including KYC, Re-KYC, deposit/withdrawal flows, and first trade activation across global markets.
  • Define and deliver the product strategy and roadmap for identity verification systems, including multi-vendor IDV orchestration, fraud prevention, and compliance alignment.
  • Optimize KYC conversion rates, reduce drop-offs, and improve verification speed while maintaining strict fraud and regulatory standards.
  • Design and manage Re-KYC experiences for existing users, ensuring minimal disruption, clear communication, and high completion rates.
  • Own fiat and crypto payment rail experiences, including deposit/withdrawal methods, eligibility rules, limits, and regional availability.
  • Drive onboarding reward mechanisms across KYC completion, deposits, and first trades in collaboration with growth and campaign teams.
  • Improve activation funnels from first deposit to first trade and derivatives participation, removing friction across trading UX and onboarding flows.
  • Collaborate closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Engineering, and Operations to translate regulatory and technical constraints into scalable product solutions.
  • Define and track key performance metrics across conversion, fraud, cost efficiency, and activation across global markets.
  • Lead localization efforts for payment methods and onboarding flows to ensure region-specific optimization and strong market fit.
  • Champion AI-native product development practices to accelerate experimentation, delivery, and decision-making.
Requirements:
  • 6–8+ years of product management experience in fintech, crypto exchanges, neobanks, or high-scale digital platforms.
  • Proven experience owning onboarding, identity verification (KYC/AML), payments, or user activation funnels in complex regulatory environments.
  • Strong understanding of IDV systems, fraud detection mechanisms, and multi-vendor verification routing logic.
  • Experience working with payment rails such as SEPA, SWIFT, ACH, card networks, or crypto on/off-ramp systems.
  • Solid technical fluency with APIs, ledger systems, and platform architecture, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge of global KYC/AML frameworks and the ability to translate compliance requirements into product design.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong proficiency in funnel analytics, experimentation, and tools such as SQL, Mixpanel, or Amplitude.
  • Ability to balance trade-offs between conversion, risk, compliance, and operational cost.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience using AI tools in product development workflows is highly valued and expected.
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to drive alignment and deliver results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary package
  • Comprehensive medical insurance, including dependent coverage
  • Flexible work arrangements (remote or hybrid, depending on role requirements)
  • Generous annual leave, including birthday and work anniversary leave
  • Internal mobility and career development opportunities
  • Employee perks including platform-related benefits
  • Work within a fast-growing global fintech and crypto environment
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture
