Overview.
As Therapist at Restoration Recovery Center (“RRC”), you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring client behavior while in treatment for substance abuse and dependency. In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, and Program Director, the Therapist is responsible for documenting client behavior, group participation and counseling, caring for clients, and coordinating treatment and discharge planning. The Therapist will also provide crisis management, counseling, group and individual therapies and education for the clients and family/significant others in a therapeutic milieu setting.
Responsibilities.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Create and monitor individual treatment plans.
- Conduct and complete family notes weekly.
- Conduct and complete individual counseling notes weekly.
- Facilitate groups that consist of various topics, such as Relapse Prevention, Psychoeducation, Anger Management, Process Groups, Drug and Alcohol Education, Communication, Healing and Trauma based groups, Aftercare, Life Skills, and Psychoeducation Groups as assigned.
- Completes clinical notes for each group session or counseling session within 24 hours of occurrence.
- Completes Bio/Psych/Social Assessment (BPS) with client within 72 hours of intake.
- Completes Master Treatment Plan (MTP) within 24-48 hours of intake.
- Completes all necessary intake/discharge forms in accordance with policies.
- Maintains current and accurate documentation/records/files in accordance with policies.
- Familiar with community resources.
- Has an understanding of 12-Step Programs and SMART recovery.
- Has an understanding of the overall program functions.
- Facilitates crisis and conflict resolution in accordance with protocol.
- Attends and participates in weekly clinical team and clinical supervision meetings.
- Understands and follows policies and procedures, including policy pertaining to Client Rights and Cultural Diversity.
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team and/or collaborates with other health care professionals and disciplines to achieve individuals’ treatments goals.
- Provide assessments and participate in the treatment planning with clients and their families/significant others.
- Interview clients to obtain information concerning social history, treatment and other pertinent information.
- Observe clients to detect indicators of abnormal physical or mental behavior.
- Discuss progress toward goals with clients such as medication regiment, family relationships, educational programs, social development, discharge plans or other behavioral problems.
- Plan and administer therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy to assist clients in developing/displaying appropriate behaviors.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with families, clients, and employees.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
- Apply psychological treatment methods and offer clients advice about tactics they can use in their daily life.
- Uphold and enforce the agency’s standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
- Additional special projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the clients and organization.
Qualifications.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program.
- Licensed or Associates Credentials: LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW or APC, APCC, AMFT, ACSW.
- Experience in clinical settings and proven experience in providing support in SUD and treatment of co-occurring disorders.
- Conflict resolution, crisis intervention, de-escalation training skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Must work independently with superior time management and understanding of priority clients.
- Ability to adjust methods and degree of therapy when indicated by client reactions/needs.
- Must possess qualities of integrity and patience.
- Computer literate; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMRs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality – working knowledge of client rights, HIPAA privacy and client confidentiality laws, program services and structure.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Current Naloxone Certification.
- Current TB test clearance.
