About the Role:
The 2s Teacher plays a critical role in fostering the early development and learning of two-year-old children by creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating classroom environment. This position focuses on supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of toddlers through age-appropriate activities and individualized attention. The teacher collaborates closely with families and colleagues to ensure each child's unique needs are met and to promote a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Additionally, the role involves observing and documenting developmental milestones and progress to tailor educational approaches effectively. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with toddlers or in an early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies for two-year-olds.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare providers.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in CPR and First Aid for infants and young children.
- Experience with curriculum development for early childhood education.
- Familiarity with developmental screening tools and assessment methods.
- Abilities or experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ongoing professional development in early childhood education best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and exploration for two-year-old children.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of each child.
- Observe, assess, and document each child's developmental progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, caregivers, and administrators to ensure consistency and quality in the educational program.
- Support children in developing social skills, language, motor skills, and self-regulation through guided play and structured routines.
