Jaxon is looking for a Proposal Writer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000
Schedule: Full-Time
Travel Requirement: Some travel expected, no more than 10%
Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able hold a DoD Secret Clearance

Requirements:Primary Duties
- Produce high-quality proposal narratives aligned to customer evaluation criteria and capture strategy
- Write evaluator-focused content that clearly articulates customer benefits and discriminators
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise, compelling proposal language
- Ensure proposal content complies with solicitation instructions and formatting requirements
- Conduct SME interviews and extract actionable technical content efficiently
- Maintain proposal templates, boilerplate, resumes, and past performance library
- Support capture planning and go/no-go decision processes with market and proposal teams
- Contribute to proposal strategy discussions and win themes with Jaxon stakeholders
- Work in conjunction with proposal team to Improve and update Jaxon proposal tools and software
- Develop compliant, persuasive proposal content for federal government solicitations
- Adjudicate reviewer comments and implement revisions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain consistency of messaging, terminology, and formatting across proposal volumes
- Support multiple simultaneous proposal efforts while maintaining quality and responsiveness
- Conduct thorough debriefs to capture lessons learned
- Improve accuracy and reduce rework based on postmortems
- Support the project management team in the transition of awarded projects to active execution by systematically organizing and cataloging cost proposals
- Communicate clearly and early when scope gaps or pricing risk is identified
- Participate in project interviews, representing Jaxon in a professional manner, to win negotiated work
Required Job Qualifications
- BS degree English, Journalism, Marketing Communications, Technical Communication, or related field highly preferred.
- 5+ years of supporting government proposal content development (DoD / federal, Subcontractor and Prime).
- Demonstrated success writing winning proposals for federal government and Prime customers.
- Experience serving as both Lead Writer and Volume Lead for Technical, Transition, and Management proposal volumes.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret RFP requirements and develop compelling, compliant, and solution-oriented responses.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
- Experience developing evaluator-focused and benefits-driven proposal narratives aligned to evaluation criteria.
- Ability to translate technical and management concepts into customer-focused solutions and persuasive messaging.
- Experience supporting capture strategy development, win themes, discriminators, and value propositions.
- Ability to work effectively under compressed deadlines while managing multiple proposal efforts simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration skills with SMEs, estimators, program managers, and proposal managers.
- Experience adjudicating reviewer comments and integrating revisions quickly and accurately.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ownership mentality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in estimating services, products, and construction efforts
- Proven capability managing multiple bids simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain a DoD issued Secret (or higher) clearance
- High Level of Autonomy and Self-Driven
Desired Job Qualifications
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes, FAR, DFAR, and government evaluation methodologies.
- Understanding of FAR basics and contract types: FFP, IDIQ, T&M (as applicable).
- Experience with capture planning before RFP release
- Strong familiarity with RFP structures including Sections L, M, PWS, and SOW requirements.
