Job Description
The Perioperative Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and family support during the surgical journey. You will be responsible for assisting physicians and ensuring a seamless experience in the Pre-Op and PACU areas. This role is crucial in maintaining a high standard of care and supporting organizational goals through quality service and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the surgical experience.
- Assist physicians with equipment, supplies, and support in Pre-Op and PACU.
- Ensure a smooth and safe surgical process, adhering to high standards of care.
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver efficient and effective care.
- Stay updated with clinical applications and best practices.
- Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory upon hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
- Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adjust to schedule changes.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided.
- Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods and occasional lifting.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
