Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY |
Repairs, rebuilds or overhauls all types of production and service equipment in the facility and repairs or manufactures machine parts. |
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Primary accountability for specific functions and results) |
2. Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and determine appropriate corrective actions. 3. Obtain work assignments, communicate with personnel requesting repairs, and determine repair requirements. 4. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, machines, tooling, building systems, fixtures, and facilities. 5. Make necessary corrections, adjustments, and repairs to maintain production efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability. 6. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and quality checks using gauges, instruments, and other testing equipment; document findings as required. 7. Repair, rebuild, and overhaul production and service equipment. 8. Repair or manufacture machine parts as needed. 9. Build, modify, and make minor repairs to production tooling, dies, machines, shop aids, and existing equipment. 10. Assist in the design, fabrication, and improvement of work aids, tooling, and production equipment. 11. Perform mechanical maintenance on components including supply lines, switches, control valves, gears, belts, hoses, and eccentrics. 12. Perform plumbing-related maintenance and minor plumbing repairs. 13. Perform electrical maintenance and wiring, including basic and advanced electrical work, under established safety requirements. 14. Clean electrical fixtures and replace bulbs as needed. 15. Perform touch-up painting and general facility maintenance repairs. 16. Use technical manuals, support documentation, and parts lists to diagnose and correct equipment and facility issues. 17. Inspect products for visual defects when required. 18. Utilize company-provided tools and recommend additional tools or equipment necessary to complete assigned work. 19. Ensure external and internal customer needs are met. 20. Work on an emergency basis when required. |

2. Operate material-handling equipment including hand jacks and two-wheel carts. 3. Assist with cleaning, housekeeping, and maintaining an organized work environment. 4. Cross-train and work in other departments or functional areas as business needs dictate. 5. Assist visitors and customers as needed. 6. Maintain flexibility in work schedules, including working outside normal hours when required. 7. Attend training opportunities, technical seminars, and skill-development activities as requested. |

POSITION REQUIREMENTS | |
To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have: | |
Education: (minimum required) | High School diploma or equivalent preferred. |
Experience: (minimum required) | One (1) year mechanical experience preferred. |
Licenses/Certifications: (minimum required) | Valid drivers license. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (minimum required): | |
1. Good math, reading and comprehension skills. 2. Limited knowledge of air and heating. 3. Good mechanical abilities such as but not limited to: soldering gun, lathe, mill, welder, band saw, drill and forklift. 4. Good communication skills. 5. Organized, responsible, and self-disciplined. 6. Able to follow oral and written instructions. 7. Dexterity in using hand tools. | |
