Clinical Ancillary Services Technical Project Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Ancillary Services – Technical Project Lead based in Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex technology transformation initiatives supporting critical enterprise environments.
The Technical Project Lead will drive application migration activities, infrastructure modernization efforts, and large-scale transition programs.
Working across business and technical teams, this position ensures successful delivery of migration projects with minimal operational disruption.
The role requires strong leadership in planning, coordination, risk management, and stakeholder engagement within a highly collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to improving enterprise technology capabilities through structured execution and operational excellence.

Accountabilities

The Technical Project Lead will be responsible for managing end-to-end technical migration initiatives, coordinating multiple workstreams, and ensuring successful delivery within complex enterprise environments. The role requires strong technical understanding combined with project leadership capabilities to drive alignment between business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of application migration and infrastructure transformation activities.
  • Manage migration readiness activities, including application assessments, dependency analysis, inventory reviews, and rationalization efforts.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops and collaborate with application owners, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain key project documentation, including migration plans, dependency maps, readiness assessments, testing strategies, implementation plans, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate testing activities, cutover planning, transition-to-operations activities, and post-migration stabilization efforts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical and operational risks throughout migration programs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent project activities while ensuring alignment with timelines, priorities, and critical deliverables.
  • Support knowledge sharing by creating technical documentation, presentations, and reusable resources to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience leading technical projects within large enterprise environments, with a strong background in infrastructure transformation, application migration, and technology modernization initiatives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in complex and evolving environments.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • 7+ years of experience leading or supporting complex technical projects in large enterprise organizations.
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure migration, data centre migration, application transformation, or cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, hosting environments, integrations, infrastructure dependencies, and operational support models.
  • Demonstrated experience managing application portfolios through major technology changes, including migration planning, dependency management, testing coordination, and operational readiness.
  • Experience developing migration strategies, implementation plans, risk assessments, dependency maps, and technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud environments, enterprise cloud migration strategies, and Microsoft Azure is highly valued.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications within healthcare or other highly regulated industries is considered an asset.
  • Ability to identify and manage technical risks while ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple technical teams simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and fast-changing environments while maintaining focus on delivery objectives.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA are considered advantageous.
