Field Evaluation Representative (f/m/d)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Evaluation Representative (f/m/d) based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to support global product safety and compliance initiatives through technical field evaluations and inspections.
You will assess non-certified equipment, ensuring products meet applicable safety requirements and regulatory expectations.
The position combines engineering expertise, customer interaction, and hands-on technical problem solving.
You will work with manufacturers to identify compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support market access.
The role requires strong technical judgment, independence, and the ability to manage diverse inspection projects.

Accountabilities:

The Field Evaluation Representative is responsible for conducting technical assessments, supporting clients through compliance processes, and delivering accurate evaluation reports. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, safety standards, and inspection methodologies while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

  • Perform technical evaluations of non-certified equipment at manufacturing sites or field locations to verify compliance with technical requirements and identify potential fire, electrical, or safety hazards.
  • Review technical documentation, including engineering drawings and test data, to support evaluation activities.
  • Communicate with clients to schedule inspections, explain evaluation requirements, provide technical guidance, and address questions throughout the process.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports outlining required modifications, non-conformities, and corrective actions needed for compliance.
  • Review corrective actions with clients and confirm that identified issues are properly addressed.
  • Conduct inspections of emerging technologies and complex products, making technical decisions based on established standards and engineering judgment.
  • Support project quotations by evaluating technical requirements, expected effort, travel needs, and timelines.
  • Manage multiple inspection assignments while maintaining quality, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Use calibrated measurement equipment, high-voltage testing tools, and relevant technical instruments during evaluations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines engineering knowledge, field inspection experience, and strong communication skills to independently manage technical evaluations and client interactions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience; or equivalent technical education and experience.
  • Experience in engineering technology, electrical systems, laboratory testing, certification, inspection, or related technical fields.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and product evaluation methodologies.
  • Understanding of North American electrical standards and codes, including NEC, CEC, NFPA 790/791, SPE-1000, and SPE-3000.
  • Familiarity with CE Framework, Low Voltage Directive (LVD), Machinery Safety, and related international standards.
  • Knowledge of HAZLOC, ATEX, and IECEx certification schemes is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test results.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex or new product technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, decision-making ability, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, multiple projects, and customer expectations effectively.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including short-notice travel requirements (up to 75%).
