This role offers the opportunity to build impactful software solutions that directly support employee financial wellness and improve access to essential financial services.
You will take ownership of full-stack development initiatives, contributing to products used by businesses and employees across North America.
Working in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to design reliable, scalable, and user-focused experiences.
The position combines technical depth with autonomy, allowing you to solve complex engineering challenges while influencing product direction.
You will contribute across the entire software lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

This role requires strong ownership, technical excellence, and a collaborative mindset to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions while helping strengthen engineering practices across the team.

  • Own feature development from concept through delivery, including backend architecture, frontend implementation, testing, demonstrations, and production release.
  • Design, build, and maintain web and mobile application capabilities that support business and customer needs.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges related to scalability, concurrency, background processing, data ingestion, and system performance.

  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to improve team capabilities.
  • Use AI-powered tools and workflows to improve development efficiency and reduce operational friction.
  • Contribute to secure software development lifecycle practices by writing clean, tested, maintainable, and production-ready code.
  • Analyze application performance and use data-driven approaches to identify improvements and validate technical decisions.
  • Balance rapid experimentation with long-term engineering quality when building and scaling new solutions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a versatile full-stack engineer with strong Ruby on Rails experience, solid software engineering fundamentals, and a passion for building reliable products. They are comfortable working independently, solving complex problems, and collaborating within an agile development environment.

  • 4+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails experience building and maintaining production applications.
  • Strong frontend development skills with JavaScript and experience working with React, React Native, or similar component-based frameworks.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis abilities, with experience using data to troubleshoot issues and guide technical decisions.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, including SOLID principles, domain-driven design, testing practices, and performant application design.
  • Full-stack development mindset with experience owning features across backend, frontend, automated testing, and deployment.
  • Experience solving scale and concurrency challenges, including background processing, queuing systems, and third-party data integrations.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, including sprint planning, story grooming, stand-ups, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt between fast experimentation and building long-term maintainable solutions.
  • Experience with modern development tools such as Git, GitHub, Jira, and standard coding environments.
  • Strong communication skills, ownership mentality, and willingness to contribute to team growth through collaboration and mentorship.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation:
