The Staff Accountant -2 will support daily accounting activities across multiple financial functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of essential processes. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Support end-to-end accounts payable activities, including invoice collection, document verification, approval coordination, and accounting system entries.
- Maintain vendor information and assist with timely vendor payment processing.
- Support AP reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices based on project milestones and contractual requirements.
- Respond to customer billing questions and assist with resolving payment discrepancies.
- Process and record customer payments, including bank transfers, cheques, and digital transactions.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and support follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Process daily cash receipts and ensure accurate financial posting.
- Assist with cash flow reporting, bank reconciliations, and other cash-related closing activities.
- Prepare AP and AR aging reports and identify overdue balances or financial trends.
- Support internal reporting initiatives and contribute to accounting process improvements.
- Prepare semi-monthly timesheet compliance reports and coordinate with employees, managers, HR, and team leads to support payroll accuracy.
The ideal candidate has a foundation in accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced financial environment. You should be comfortable working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with different teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software is preferred.
