The Director of Capture will lead high-value government contracting pursuits and drive strategic growth opportunities across complex federal programs.
This role will oversee capture strategies, coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams, and develop compelling solutions designed to secure major contracts.
The position requires a strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, customer engagement, and large-scale proposal development.
Working closely with executive leadership, the Director will shape opportunity strategies, strengthen competitive positioning, and improve win probability.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience managing significant capture efforts within security, medical, logistics, or related government service environments.

The Director of Capture will be responsible for leading strategic capture initiatives from opportunity identification through contract award. This role will partner with business development, operational, and executive teams to create effective pursuit strategies, develop customer-focused solutions, and position the organization for success in large-scale government opportunities.
- Lead capture efforts for major federal and state opportunities across security, medical, and response logistics sectors.
- Assign, coordinate, and manage capture activities, teams, and resources throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
- Develop and execute opportunity-specific capture plans, customer engagement strategies, and call plans.
- Create winning strategies, including win themes, discriminators, proof points, and competitive positioning.
- Lead customer meetings and presentations to communicate organizational capabilities and solution value.
- Manage business development and proposal budgets for large-scale pursuits.
- Develop and coordinate concepts of operations (CONOPS) and solution planning activities.
- Prepare and present capture gate reviews and pursuit updates to executive leadership.
- Lead color team reviews and ensure proposal readiness when required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align operational capabilities with customer requirements.
- Monitor federal market opportunities and support strategic growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading government capture initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to win large and complex contracts. Strong knowledge of federal customers, solution development, and strategic pursuit management is essential.
- 5+ years of business development and capture experience successfully pursuing federal customers.
- Proven experience winning large-scale contracts valued at $100M+ with agencies such as FEMA, Department of State, Department of Defense, HHS, or similar organizations.
- Experience leading complex solution planning and CONOPS development within security, medical, response logistics, or related sectors.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to customers and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
- Experience leading large-scale capture efforts in government services environments is preferred.
- PMP certification or similar project management credentials are a plus.
