Job Summary
The Career Advisor Associate supports undergraduate student success by providing career advising, developing career education programs, fostering campus partnerships, and coordinating peer career advisor initiatives. The role guides students in exploring career pathways, building career readiness skills, leveraging academic experiences, and preparing for post-graduation success.

Responsibilities include:
Support all Career Center initiatives, programs, and services by collaborating across functional areas to meet departmental goals and enhance the student experience.
Provide career advising and programming that supports the career development process.
Guide students through career assessment, career exploration, internship and job search strategies, and career decision-making.
Collaborate in the development and support of the Peer Career Advisor Program by assisting with training, resource development, and program evaluation.
Develop and deliver career development workshops, presentations, events, and educational resources for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to support career exploration and career readiness.
Utilize career technologies (e.g., Handshake, career assessment tools, CRM systems) to support student engagement, document interactions, and manage services.
Collect, analyze, and report student engagement and career development outcome data to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
Stay informed of workforce trends, industry expectations, and career development best practices to enhance student support.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Student Success will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision-making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Well-organized; excellent follow-through.
  • Experience in counseling, advising, or teaching students/adults.
  • Utilize career management technologies (e.g., Handshake, Big Interview, Focus2, CRM systems, and data dashboards) to support student engagement and service delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interface with employers, students, alumni, faculty, and administrators.
  • Ability to embrace and drive change; manage multiple priorities independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in web-based software; Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Effective oral/written communication, program planning, presentation, and computer skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with students, faculty, employers, and staff.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with academic units.
  • Service-oriented approach.
  • Careful attention to detail.
