Location: IsoFusion, Tacoma, WA Office
Schedule: Day Shift (Mon–Fri: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Oncall rotation
Compensation: $45,000–$60,000/Annual depending on experience
IsoFusion is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems and Network Technician to join our Network Operations and System Administration team. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in IT or technical support who is eager to expand their skills and grow into more advanced system and network engineering roles.
About the Role
As a Systems and Network Technician, you will monitor and maintain data center infrastructure, respond to alerts, and assist with troubleshooting across network, servers, virtualization, and infrastructure systems. You will work directly with enterprise-grade technology, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a real-world operations environment.
This role is designed for an IT professional looking to advance beyond traditional help desk responsibilities and gain hands-on experience managing enterprise infrastructure. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced system administrators and engineers, as well as develop skills in networking, systems administration, virtualization, and data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network, server, and data center infrastructure.
• Monitor infrastructure systems and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, network, operating system, and service-related issues.
• Perform hands-on administration of servers, networking equipment, and data center systems including hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling (Ethernet and fiber), diagnostics, and component replacement.
• Assist with server and network configuration changes, system maintenance, upgrades, and deployments under established procedures.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support for infrastructure-related issues and participate in root cause analysis and problem resolution.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving LAN/WAN, switching, routing, servers, and related infrastructure services.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial investigation, document findings, and coordinate escalation when additional expertise is required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational processes.
• Assist with infrastructure projects, including new deployments, hardware refreshes, migrations, and process improvements.
• Document incidents, changes, resolutions, and follow-up actions within the ticketing system.
• Provide professional technical support to internal teams, customers, and service providers.
• Participate in the Network Operations Center and System Administrators on-call rotation as skills and experience develop.

Requirements:Minimum Requirements
• 2+ year of IT, help desk, or technical support experience.
• Hands-on experience administering Linux or BSD systems in a professional, educational, or home environment.
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, switching, routing concepts, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting (PCs, servers, or network devices).
• Comfortable using command-line tools (Linux, BSD, and Windows).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and troubleshoot unfamiliar systems independently.
• Ability to pass a background check (employment is contingent on successful completion).
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
• Familiarity with enterprise network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, or equivalent).
• Scripting or programming exposure (Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell).
• Prior data center or NOC experience.
