CDL Truck Driver - Local in Huntsville, Alabama at Schnellecke

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts

Position Summary

Schnellecke Logistics is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to support transportation operations between our warehouse and customer plant locations. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, trailers, and equipment while also assisting with truck yard operations to ensure smooth daily logistics activities.

Essential Job Duties

• Safely operate CDL vehicles to transport materials and products between warehouse and plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
• Perform trailer spotting and movement within the warehouse and plant yards.
• Manage trailer inventory and maintain organization of the truck yard.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to support material flow and transportation schedules.
• Verify load accuracy and secure cargo as required.
• Complete required transportation logs, inspection reports, and shipping documentation.
• Report vehicle maintenance issues, safety concerns, or operational delays promptly.
• Follow all company policies, customer requirements, and DOT regulations.
• Assist with additional logistics and yard duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Clean driving record with the ability to meet company insurability requirements.
• Previous CDL driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating yard trucks, trailers, or warehouse transportation equipment preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
• Basic understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the shift.
• Ability to climb, bend, squat, and perform routine trailer inspections.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
