Title: Donor Engagement Manager

Reports to: Director of Membership

Location: Providence

Position Type: Full time, Exempt

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000

About the Role:

The Donor Engagement Manager develops and implements strategies that ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to Ocean State Media and our mission. The incumbent in this role serves as a bridge between development, audience engagement, community engagement, marketing, and leadership to deliver an exceptional donor journey. This role focuses on donor stewardship, impact messaging, and special events. The individual is responsible for creating and managing positive, meaningful interactions to increase donor satisfaction, retention, engagement, and lifetime giving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Donor Stewardship: Create and execute outreach plans to thank and update donors.

  • Event Planning: Organize donor appreciation events, major donor events, and briefings.

  • Impact Storytelling and Reporting: Write compelling letters, newsletters, and reports showing philanthropic impact.

  • Collaboration: Work with program staff to gather stories and data for donor communications.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Work with the Chief Growth Officer and Director of Development to develop opportunities for donors and prospective donors to connect with OSM leadership and talent.

  • Deliver information to donors about the work of OSM in a timely and meaningful manner.

  • Collaborate with the programming and community teams to design experiences around OSM programs and services.

  • Create donor engagement opportunities, including events, tours, webinars, and volunteer experiences.

Donor Journey Management

  • Map and optimize the donor lifecycle from acquisition through renewal and upgrade, working with the Director of Development and Director of Individual Giving.

  • Identify opportunities to improve donor satisfaction and retention.

  • Monitor donor touchpoints to ensure a seamless donor experience.

Communications

  • Develop donor-centered communications for segmented audiences.

  • Produce impact reports, newsletters, and stewardship materials.

  • Partner with the Director of Individual Giving to develop major donor communications.

  • Ensure messaging reflects donor interests and organizational priorities.

Data Management

  • Track donor engagement in RevCRM in partnership with the Director of Development.

  • Analyze donor behavior and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship plans within the CRM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, donor relations, stewardship, or a related area, preferably within a nonprofit, public media, or mission-driven organization.

  • Strong understanding of the donor lifecycle and the principles of cultivation, stewardship, retention, and relationship building.

  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with donors and collaborate effectively with fundraisers, organizational leaders, and colleagues across an organization.

  • Experience using donor data and CRM systems to support fundraising and donor engagement, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
