Senior Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant based in United States.

This is a hands-on accounting opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, systems, and process improvement.
You will take ownership of expense operations, Accounts Payable, corporate spend, payroll activities, and expense-related general ledger processes.
The role combines detailed execution with the opportunity to analyze financial data and turn it into meaningful operational insights.
You will help build efficient, scalable back-office systems that improve accuracy, visibility, and organizational performance.
Working within a high-growth SaaS environment, you will have significant ownership and the opportunity to modernize workflows through automation and AI-enabled tools.
You will collaborate closely with accounting leadership while mentoring teammates and driving consistency across finance processes.
This role is ideal for someone highly organized, systems-oriented, analytical, and energized by continuous improvement.

Accountabilities
  • Own full-cycle Accounts Payable operations, including vendor onboarding, invoice and bill review, payment batch management, aging analysis, and escalations.
  • Maintain and improve Expense Operations and AP Health dashboards, providing leadership with visibility into payables health, spending exceptions, and policy compliance.
  • Manage corporate card and employee spending workflows, including weekly card reviews and synchronization, accurate GL coding, policy enforcement, and exception reporting.
  • Run multi-platform payroll entry and preparation processes while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Reconcile and manage employee-related expenses within the general ledger and oversee the integrations supporting these processes.
  • Own GL expense account activities throughout the month-end close, including accruals, prepaid releases, reimbursement entries, allocation journal entries, and workpaper completion.
  • Coordinate with accounting leadership to ensure all expense-related close deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Champion effective use of finance technology and ensure systems provide reliable data and support efficient workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate AP and expense processes, reduce manual work, improve resilience, and leverage AI tools to increase operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain process documentation and workflow standards that improve consistency, reduce errors, and increase team capacity.
  • Mentor staff accountants through day-to-day review, guidance, and feedback.
  • Analyze operational and financial data, identify trends or issues, and communicate insights that help leadership make informed decisions.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience working within a high-growth SaaS or B2B software environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience across Accounts Payable, payroll, corporate spending, and expense operations.
  • Solid general ledger and month-end close experience, including direct ownership of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and related close activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, recurring financial workflows with accuracy, consistency, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain operational dashboards and reporting deliverables, including AP health, expense operations, and GL reporting.
  • Practical experience incorporating AI tools into recurring workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Strong process-improvement mindset with an ability to identify inefficiencies, eliminate unnecessary manual work, and build scalable processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across accounting and operational teams.
  • NetSuite experience is preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • CPA or equivalent professional designation is advantageous.
