MAIN PURPOSE:

By applying the highest standards of leadership and business acumen, to ensure that the financial and business targets are exceeded.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience.

EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of relevant experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ensuring that profit and business targets are agreed and achieved by:

  • Consulting with and assisting the Business Manager in the setting of targets for their allocated Clients.
  • Fulfilling the tasks described in this job description.

Preparing and fulfilling a business plan for the growth of their assigned Clients by taking ownership/accountability for:

  • Budget/Forecast creation and management.
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Delivering existing and new business opportunities.
  • Actively marketing all Group services to client base.

Ensuring that all orders and contracts are completed to the Clients’ satisfaction while maximising the financial benefit to Sparrows by:

  • Communicating effectively with the client.
  • Compilation of monthly and quarterly reports to the client detailing HSEQ, Financial, Technical and Operational performance as a minimum, to a client agreed schedule and in agreement with the Business Manager.
  • Assisting with the review of operation processes to ensure maximum efficiency (both Internal and External).
  • Effective management of change (Financially and Technically).
  • Gaining customer feedback by customer satisfaction surveys and client visits onshore, offshore and overseas as required.
  • Managing technical elements efficiently and effectively to ensure best solution provided.
  • Provide occasional offshore and customer on site review of project, work and safety.

Identification and contribution to the development of new systems, procedures and initiatives that will assist the Sparrows Group of Companies by:

  • Contributing to special meetings and working parties.
  • Liaising directly with Product Groups.
  • On a day-to-day basis, identifying necessary process and business improvements and taking steps to implement same.
  • Participating in knowledge sharing of best practices between colleagues.

Ensuring that their direct reports develop their own skills and experience for the benefit of the Company by:

  • Undertaking an annual formal appraisal where development needs are identified and agreed.
  • Monitoring the performance of his direct mechanics.
  • Identifying the training needs for mechanics.

Taking an active part in promoting an excellent safety culture by:

  • Setting an example at all times of the correct safety behaviors.
  • Letting it be known at every opportunity that safety is a prime concern, and people will be given every support for stopping unsafe jobs.
  • Seeking the advice from time to time of the HSEQ Rep. and supporting the roll out of safety initiatives.
  • Following all Sparrows Group safety rules and procedures including reporting of accidents immediately to the Business Manager/HSEQ Rep.
  • Participation and contribution towards the HSEQ plan actions and initiatives.

Following best in class people management practices and overseeing his direct report’s fulfilment of these functions by:

  • Seeking the advice of, and supplying information to the Human Resources Rep.
  • Effectively applying all HR policies and practices.
  • Monitoring employee satisfaction levels in his business units and offering guidance to his direct reports when necessary.

Ensuring that all financial transactions are completed to the highest ethical and professional standards and comply with the Sparrows Group policies by:

  • Ensuring WIP and Debt are effectively managed.
  • Ensuring that internal and external procurement is completed to maximize the financial benefit to the business.
  • Seeking advice from Finance Dept Rep.
  • Encouraging his direct reports to seek advice from and respond timely to staff in the Finance department.
  • Responding quickly and thoroughly when issues regarding financial probity are suspected or identified.

Contributing at a senior level to marketing of the Sparrows Group services by:

  • Working with and assisting the Business Development team.
  • Assisting the Business Development team with ideas, marketing copy and contacts relating to his business units.
  • Undertaking regular visits and communication with their Clients.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable and legitimate duties assigned by Business Manager.
