ABOUT LIBRA INDUSTRIES:
Libra Industries is a full-service Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider with decades of experience delivering high-reliability electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies for customers in aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, and industrial markets. With facilities in Texas, Ohio, and Mexico, we serve a diverse customer base that depends on us for precision, quality, and on-time delivery.
At Libra, we build more than products — we build long-term partnerships. Our team members work in a collaborative, technically challenging environment where attention to detail matters and individual contributions have a direct impact on customer success.
PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is a critical member of Libra's Customer Focus Team (CFT), responsible for bringing customer new product designs into realization. The ME is a key technical participant with responsibilities to develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture of printed circuit board sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and integrated systems for highly-regulated market segments (Aerospace & Defense, Medical, SemiCap, Tech Industrial). Customers see the Libra ME as an extension to their engineering team, proposing DfX solutions and recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. In collaboration with the production team, the ME will work to analyze and resolve a variety of technical issues related to supplier quality, SMT and PTH manufacturing, and backend mechanical assembly. The ME interfaces with customers, outside suppliers, and internal teams (program management, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, logistics, operational excellence, finance), coordinating the release of new high-reliability products.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Participate as process/manufacturing engineering representative on Customer Focus Teams (CFT) for new product introduction activities including product & process reviews, scheduling, and management of new product introduction launches.
- Interface with customers, outside suppliers, and internal teams (program management, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, logistics, operational excellence, finance) in coordinating the release of new products.

- Develop Manufacturing Process/Work Instructions with sufficient detail to support repeatable and consistent manufacturing processes.
- Configure BOMs/routings according to the product structure and ensure customer and internal engineering changes are properly implemented, maintaining configuration management in the change management system through the customer product lifecycle.
- Submit related customer and internal engineering change information into the product lifecycle management system.
- Establish effective and efficient manufacturing processes, work instructions, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and process control plans.
- Coordinate time studies, line setup, and line balancing/line capacity, and develop and implement tooling and other process improvement-related projects.
- Support sustaining engineering activities, including support of production teams and root cause analysis of manufacturing non-conformances.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills in interacting with customers, outside suppliers, and internal team members.
- Demonstrate detail orientation, teamwork, flexibility, and self-motivation with strong interpersonal skills.
- Prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a demanding environment, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
