Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Master's Program Management, within the Office for Graduate Education, the Part-Time Program Coordinator will provide operational and admissions support across the MMSc-CI and SM-CSO programs and may support SM-HQS and SM-CR as needed. This role is crucial for managing a high volume of admissions activity during peak cycles as well as supporting general program operations year-round. By handling key administrative responsibilities, the coordinator enables Program Managers to devote attention to strategic initiatives including student advising, curriculum management, and faculty engagement.

Responsibilities:

Admissions Support

  • Manage application materials and ensure completeness of submissions
  • Coordinate and schedule applicant interviews, leading communications with candidates and faculty reviewers
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to finalize interview schedules and admissions workflows
  • Track and update applicant statuses; maintain admissions databases
  • Draft and send admissions-related communications
  • Plan and facilitate admissions events (e.g., information sessions)
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries

Program Operations Support

  • Assist with student registration, enrollment, and general program communications
  • Support program events and student engagement activities
  • Track and organize course information, evaluations, and teaching team needs
  • Provide administrative support to program managers, directors, and faculty as needed
  • Contribute to contingency coverage for essential program functions during staff absences

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience. Higher education may count towards experience.

Additional Information

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: Please note this is a part-time, 20 hours (.57 FTE) per week position. Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
