Rental Tech II in McCloud, California at Mt. Shasta Ski Park

Overview:
Mt. Shasta Ski Park is looking for skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join our Rentals Team as Rental Tech II. This role goes beyond guest service by including technical responsibilities such as adjusting, setting, and maintaining ski and snowboard equipment according to industry standards. Rental Tech II staff ensure guests receive properly fitted and safe equipment while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist guests with fitting boots, skis, and snowboards.

Perform equipment waxing.

Perform binding adjustments and equipment setups according to safety standards and guest specifications.

Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot rental equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.

Educate guests on equipment use and answer general questions about the rental process.

Process returns and ensure equipment is cleaned, stored, and organized properly.

Support Rental Tech I staff in fitting boots and handling guest flow during busy periods.

Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient rental shop environment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a ski or snowboard rental shop preferred.

Knowledge of ski/snowboard equipment and binding adjustment procedures required.

Industry certification in ski/snowboard equipment teching (preferred, training may be provided).

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.

Physically able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused.

Compensation & Schedule:

Pay rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Seasonal position with both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Eligible for Season Pass and employee discounts.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods.
