Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman (THK) has served the communities of Kaufman, Crandall, Forney, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Terrell, and nearby areas since 1975. As an 81-bed, full-service hospital, we provide acute care to patients throughout Kaufman County and surrounding regions.

We offer a wide range of services, including orthopedic and general surgery, diagnostic imaging, and outpatient physical therapy. Our specialties also include respiratory care, nuclear medicine, and emergency services, ensuring accessible care across a variety of patient needs.

Job Summary

The President & Chief Nursing Officer THK will plan, direct, and coordinate the activities and functions of the hospitals' facilities through the administrative offices and the medical staff

The President and Chief Nursing Officer has the following duties and responsibilities:

Operations Development and Implementation :
. Responsible to execute the operating direction / vision for the hospital in support of strategic and operating plans.
. Work with THR channel and system leadership to implement and execute operational plans in order to achieve hospital, channel and system objectives.
. The President & CNO THK serves as the hospital executive co-chair of the Leadership Council with the physician chief-of-staff.

Strategic Planning :
. Participate and add value in establishing strategic zone priorities, goals, and objectives.
. This leader will partner with channel leaders in the development, implementation and management of clinical, service and operational plans to address continuum and integration opportunities.
. Serve effectively on various THR councils and committees to increase and enhance intra-channel cooperation and advance system initiatives.

Market/Environmental Analysis :
. Works with Channel Leaders, medical staff and THR planning and business development leaders to appropriately identify opportunities and environmental/market trends while maintaining flexibility and preparedness to proactively respond to shifting trends and opportunities.

Budget :
. Oversees the provision of quality care and services through the cost effective management of hospital operations.
. Assumes accountability and evaluation authority and responsibility for the development of the operating and non-threshold capital budgets.

Relationships :
. Maintains day-to-day ongoing relationships with the organized medical staff in concert with the Allocated CMO.
. Maintains day-to-day ongoing relationships with the nursing staff in concert with established nursing leadership.
. Creates processes that support dissemination of data and information to leadership team and staff.
. Networks with peers in State/Regional/National to share ideas and conduct mutual problem-solving.
. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, department/hospital staff management team.
. Establishes, promotes and participates in community health activities.

Human Resources :
. Evaluates staffing and qualification requirements for reporting departments in conjunction with the channel and system leadership.
. Oversees effective recruitment and retention program.
. Promotes diversity objectives for the organization in recruiting and promotion into leadership roles of the organization.
. Evaluates staffing and qualification requirements for the provision of care and in conjunction with the channel and system leadership.
. Participates in reward and recognition of individual and team accomplishments.
. Establishes the philosophy of nursing and promotes the professional image of nursing in demeanor, appearance, attitude and behaviors.

Quality Improvements and KPIs :
. Promote clinical integration, improvement and alignment to advance patient outcomes while monitoring quality outcomes and maintaining continuous readiness for regulatory inspections. Instill a culture devoted to hardwiring safety initiatives and committed to achieving and sustaining clinical quality targets and reducing variation from standards of care within hospitals. Work collaboratively in an environment with system and matrixed reporting relationships for the achievement of nursing and quality initiatives.
. Responsible for ensuring the achievement of the hospital's goals in the area of satisfaction (patient, physician and employee), patient safety, clinical and non-clinical quality and operational performance.
. Responsible for pursuing and achieving the goals of specific channel initiatives.
. Oversees an effective process for measuring, assessing and improving patient outcomes and patient safety.
. Directs activities that support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements.
. Promotes professional growth, development and accountability and supports structure for shared decision-making in staff with an emphasis in inter/intradepartmental team work and team accomplishments.

Qualifications

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to build THR's culture for action.

Education and/or Experience

• Master's Degree Health Administration or other health related field required

• 5 years progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations required

• 3 years Management in a senior leadership role required

Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse TX RN license required upon hire
FACHE - Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives Diplomat or Fellow preferred upon hire

Skills
Demonstrated excellence in clinical management, quality improvement, financial analysis, process & planning, strategic planning principles.
