Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Python Engineer (.NET) based in United States.
This is a high-impact engineering opportunity focused on modernizing a core scheduling platform that supports real customers every day.
You will play a key role in shaping backend architecture, establishing Python engineering standards, and improving the reliability and maintainability of critical services.
The position offers broad technical exposure across a multi-product ecosystem built with Python and .NET.
You will work alongside a highly experienced, collaborative engineering team where senior engineers are expected to influence architecture and execution.
AI-assisted development is already embedded in the engineering workflow, including LLM tooling, agent orchestration, and AI-powered coding, debugging, and testing.
The role is ideal for a pragmatic technical leader who enjoys solving complex problems, working across technology stacks, and making thoughtful engineering decisions.
As part of a fully distributed team, you will have significant ownership while collaborating asynchronously across multiple time zones.
- Lead backend development for the modernization of the core scheduling platform, establishing Python best practices and contributing to key architectural decisions.
- Own the quality, reliability, and maintainability of Python-driven services as the platform evolves.
- Contribute across a multi-product technology ecosystem spanning Python and .NET, including products and services related to engagement, authentication, messaging, and time management.
- Design, build, maintain, and improve APIs and backend services while remaining hands-on throughout the development lifecycle.
- Write production-quality code, participate in code reviews, debug complex issues, and contribute to technical problem-solving.
- Help establish and maintain engineering standards around code quality, architecture, testing, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the ongoing modernization of the software platform through pragmatic technical decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability.
- Help advance an AI-accelerated software development lifecycle by applying tools such as Claude Code, LLM-based development workflows, and agent orchestration to coding, debugging, testing, and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers across products and technology stacks to solve problems and deliver reliable solutions.
- Provide technical guidance through constructive feedback, thoughtful disagreement, and strong engineering judgment.
- Contribute to a collaborative, low-ego engineering culture where ownership, initiative, and shared responsibility are valued.
- Deep, production-grade experience with Python 3.10+, including the ability to write clean, idiomatic, maintainable Python and establish strong engineering practices.
- Meaningful professional experience with .NET, with sufficient technical depth to contribute effectively within a mixed Python and .NET environment.
- Strong backend engineering experience, including API development, service ownership, debugging, code reviews, and production software delivery.
- Experience working on complex or evolving platforms where architecture, reliability, maintainability, and scalability are important considerations.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or agentic software development workflows, including LLM tooling, AI coding assistants, multi-agent systems, or similar technologies.
- Strong system design and architectural judgment, with the ability to make pragmatic technical trade-offs rather than over-engineering solutions.
- Demonstrated senior-level engineering judgment, initiative, and ability to operate independently without requiring constant direction.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions, challenge ideas constructively, and collaborate effectively with experienced engineers.
- A genuine team-first mindset, with a willingness to contribute across products and technologies rather than remaining confined to a narrow specialization.
- Comfort working in a fully distributed environment, collaborating asynchronously with colleagues across different time zones.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, development practices, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Fully remote position based in the United States.
- Inclusive and collaborative working environment where diverse perspectives are valued.
- Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance.
- Benefits available from the first day of employment.
- Generous paid time off and company-paid holidays, including flexible floating holidays.
- 100% 401(k) employer match up to 6%.
- Paid parental leave.
- Wellness support and access to mental health resources.
- Opportunities to work with modern AI-assisted development tools and emerging engineering practices.
- The opportunity to contribute to a significant platform modernization initiative and influence technical standards across a multi-product engineering environment.
