Job Description

The Van Driver/Chaperone is responsible for the safe and timely transport and chaperoning of elementary students ages 5-12. This position is classified as Non-Exempt and does not offer a benefits package. Hours are from 12PM-4PM, or 2PM-6PM, Monday through Friday. The Jewish Community Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help children in boarding and exiting vehicle.
  • Follow scheduled routes, chartered routes and requests from management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
  • Able to communicate consistently in a clear and courteous manner.
  • Report accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or damage to the Youth and Teen Director.
  • Able to problem solve and make sound decisions.
  • Keep the bus clean and maintained.
  • Obey all traffic laws and demonstrate careful and safe-driving procedures at all times.
  • Save daily driving logs, including mileage, passengers and gas receipts.
  • Pick up the van in the JCC parking lot for scheduled shifts. The keys remain at the JCC when the van is not in use.
    • REQUIREMENTS:
    • Availability to work a flexible schedule, up to 20 hours per week, with an occasional maximum of 29 hours.
    • Have a current valid Texas driver’s license, and over the age of 25.
    • Own and maintain an official clean motor vehicle record.
    • Possess knowledge of the local area.
    • Provide exceptional customer service with a positive attitude.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Maintain professional appearance.
    • Share a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of the JCC
