This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Applications Engineer - FPGA Specialist based in the United States.

This role combines advanced FPGA engineering expertise with customer-facing technical consulting and sales support.
You will work closely with regional sales teams, customers, and technology suppliers to identify opportunities and develop effective technical solutions.
The position provides hands-on guidance throughout the design process, from understanding system requirements to supporting strategic opportunities.
You will also help educate internal teams and customers on emerging technologies, products, and their applications.
Success in this role requires strong technical credibility, communication skills, and the ability to build influential relationships across multiple stakeholders.
The position offers significant autonomy, exposure to a broad range of technologies, and the opportunity to influence high-value customer projects.
This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel and potential visits to a designated office when required.

Accountabilities:
  • Partner with regional sales teams on pre-sales and post-sales activities, providing technical expertise, consulting, and support to drive demand creation.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for local Field Applications Engineers supporting strategic opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their design requirements at both the system and component levels and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Develop strong knowledge of supplier technologies by participating in technical training and evaluating the strengths, limitations, and market applications of available solutions.
  • Train sales teams on new products and technologies and help identify suitable customer opportunities for those products.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while managing expectations and communicating progress on key initiatives.
  • Manage strategic opportunities and the opportunity pipeline across the assigned region.
  • Participate actively in branch strategy meetings, quarterly business reviews, customer meetings, and other business development activities.
  • Help organize engineering-focused customer events, seminars, and technical presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical and sales presentations to customers, both virtually and on-site.
  • Operate independently with limited guidance while serving as a technical resource and mentor to colleagues with less experience.
  • Support regional branches and customer engagements, with approximately 25% travel required.
  • Contribute to sales objectives through participation in a sales compensation plan, with a portion of on-target earnings tied to defined sales-related goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of electronic design experience, with strong practical experience developing electronic systems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing with FPGAs, including HDL development, simulation, verification, and related design methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA technologies and their application within customer system designs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer-facing and relationship-building abilities, with confidence engaging customers, suppliers, sales professionals, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple strategic opportunities, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a commercial mindset and understanding of customer needs.
  • Previous sales experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% and, when required, work from a designated office.
Benefits:
  • Annual salary range: $84,300–$147,500, depending on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
  • Potential variable compensation through a sales incentive plan tied to defined business objectives.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) options.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Professional growth and career development opportunities.
  • Remote work arrangement, with potential office attendance when business needs require it.
  • Opportunity to work with advanced FPGA technologies, strategic customers, and a broad network of technology partners.
  • Full-time position with approximately 25% travel.
