Position Description: About the Role

DACUT Cannabis is seeking an experienced, hands-on Cultivation Assistant Manager – Flower to support daily operations within the flowering stage of our Flint cultivation facility.

This position is focused exclusively on flower production and will help oversee multiple flower rooms from the time plants enter the flowering stage through harvest. This role is not responsible for propagation or vegetative operations.

The Cultivation Assistant Manager will work closely with the Cultivation Manager to lead Flower Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians while ensuring plant health, production schedules, environmental conditions, quality standards, and daily cultivation tasks are consistently executed.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial cannabis flower experience, understands how to manage a crop throughout the complete flowering cycle, and is comfortable leading teams in a large-scale, high-volume indoor cultivation environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Flower Room Operations

Assist with overseeing daily cultivation activities across all flowering rooms.
Manage plants from entry into flower through harvest.
Ensure flower rooms remain on schedule throughout each stage of the flowering cycle.
Oversee watering, feeding, pruning, defoliation, trellising, lollipopping, canopy management, and other flower-specific cultivation activities.
Monitor plant spacing, canopy development, and overall room consistency.
Ensure cultivation SOPs are followed consistently across all flower rooms.
Coordinate room schedules and harvest readiness with Cultivation and Post-Harvest leadership.
Identify workflow or production issues and implement corrective action.

Plant Health & Crop Management

Conduct daily inspections of flowering plants to monitor overall crop health.
Identify nutrient deficiencies, environmental stress, pests, disease, mold, mildew, and other plant health concerns.
Monitor plant development throughout the flowering cycle and make adjustments as necessary.
Assist with maintaining feeding, irrigation, and crop management strategies.
Monitor flower development, plant structure, trichome development, and overall harvest readiness.
Maintain consistency between rooms and production cycles.
Escalate significant crop health concerns to the Cultivation Manager immediately.

Team Leadership

Assist with leading, coaching, and developing Flower Supervisors, Leads, and Cultivation Technicians.
Assign daily responsibilities based on room schedules and production priorities.
Ensure employees understand daily expectations and cultivation standards.
Monitor employee productivity, quality, attendance, and performance.
Provide hands-on training and coaching on flower room techniques and SOPs.
Hold employees accountable for completing assigned tasks correctly and on schedule.
Help develop strong Leads and Supervisors capable of independently managing flower rooms.
Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and attention to detail.

Environmental Controls

Monitor temperature, humidity, VPD, CO2, lighting, airflow, irrigation, and other environmental conditions throughout flower rooms.
Ensure environmental conditions remain within established parameters during each stage of flower.
Review environmental data and identify trends that may impact plant health, quality, or yield.
Work with Cultivation leadership and Facilities to troubleshoot HVAC, dehumidification, irrigation, lighting, and environmental control issues.
Respond quickly to environmental alarms or equipment failures that could negatively impact flowering plants.
Irrigation & Plant Nutrition
Monitor irrigation schedules and plant response throughout the flowering cycle.
Ensure plants receive proper nutrients and irrigation according to established cultivation protocols.
Identify signs of overwatering, underwatering, nutrient deficiencies, nutrient excesses, or other feeding-related concerns.
Assist with monitoring EC, pH, runoff, and other crop steering indicators as applicable.
Communicate irrigation or nutrient concerns to Cultivation leadership.

IPM & Sanitation

Conduct routine inspections for pests, pathogens, mold, mildew, and disease.
Ensure Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures are followed throughout flowering.
Coordinate with appropriate cultivation staff regarding preventative treatments and plant health concerns.
Maintain strict sanitation and biosecurity standards across all flower rooms.
Ensure employees properly clean and sanitize tools and equipment between rooms.
Enforce PPE and sanitation requirements to reduce cross-contamination.

Harvest Preparation

Monitor flower rooms approaching harvest and communicate harvest readiness to leadership.
Coordinate with Post-Harvest teams to ensure harvest schedules are properly planned.
Ensure plants and rooms are properly prepared for harvest.
Verify plant counts and production information before harvest.
Assist with overseeing harvest activities and ensuring material is properly transferred into Post-Harvest operations.
Support room cleanup and turnover following harvest.

Inventory & Compliance

Ensure accurate plant counts and room-level inventory throughout flowering.
Verify plant movements, waste, harvest information, and other required cultivation records.
Work closely with Cultivation Inventory and Compliance teams to maintain inventory accuracy.
Ensure employees follow company SOPs and Michigan CRA requirements.
Support METRC documentation and reconciliation as needed.
Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Report inventory discrepancies immediately.

Production & Performance

Monitor flower room performance, production schedules, and harvest timelines.
Track key cultivation metrics including plant health, yield, quality, room performance, and labor productivity.
Assist with identifying underperforming rooms and determining root causes.
Provide regular updates to the Cultivation Manager regarding crop health, staffing, production timelines, and operational concerns.
Help identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, consistency, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

3+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience with a strong focus on flower production.
Previous Lead, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or cultivation leadership experience.
Strong understanding of the complete cannabis flowering cycle.
Hands-on experience with pruning, defoliation, trellising, lollipopping, canopy management, irrigation, feeding, and harvest preparation.
Strong understanding of plant nutrition, environmental controls, and crop health.
Ability to identify common pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
Experience working within large-scale indoor cultivation environments.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to manage multiple flower rooms and production priorities simultaneously.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must be at least 21 years of age and meet all requirements for employment within Michigan's cannabis industry.

Preferred

Experience overseeing multiple commercial flower rooms simultaneously.
Experience managing high-volume indoor cannabis production.
Strong understanding of VPD, EC, pH, environmental controls, and irrigation strategies.
Experience with automated irrigation or fertigation systems.
Experience with environmental monitoring and cultivation control systems.
METRC experience.
Experience tracking yield, room performance, and cultivation KPIs.
Experience working within a vertically integrated cannabis operation.
Physical Requirements
