This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Consultant – FinOps & Cloudability based in India.
This is a senior consulting opportunity focused on helping organizations gain greater visibility and control over their cloud spending. You will lead end-to-end FinOps and Cloudability engagements, from discovery and solution design through implementation, optimization, and advisory. The role combines cloud financial management, technical architecture, customer consulting, and strategic leadership across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. You will work closely with engineering, finance, procurement, and executive stakeholders to translate complex cloud cost data into actionable business insights. You will also contribute to Apptio One and TBM initiatives, connecting financial transparency with broader technology management practices. The position offers the opportunity to shape delivery methodologies, mentor consultants, and influence how enterprises maximize the value of their cloud investments.
- Lead end-to-end Cloudability implementation, optimization, and FinOps consulting engagements, including discovery, solution design, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing advisory.
- Conduct customer workshops to assess cloud environments, business requirements, FinOps maturity, governance needs, and financial management objectives.
- Design and configure Cloudability solutions, including billing integrations, business mappings, tagging, cost allocation, reporting, dashboards, and executive insights.
- Advise customers on cloud governance, budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, commitment management, and FinOps operating models.
- Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives such as rightsizing, reservations, savings plans, waste reduction, and commitment optimization across multi-cloud environments.
- Lead integrations between Cloudability, Apptio One, and enterprise platforms such as CMDB, ERP, ITSM, BI tools, and other business systems.
- Support Apptio One initiatives covering Cost Transparency, budgeting, planning, service costing, financial reporting, and Technology Business Management.
- Design and maintain Cloudability–Apptio One data flows, business mappings, financial models, and reporting structures to ensure consistent and accurate information.
- Develop cloud cost models, executive dashboards, financial reports, and actionable recommendations for business and technology leadership.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor consultants on Cloudability configurations, FinOps practices, implementation approaches, and reusable delivery assets.
- Serve as a trusted customer advisor, presenting project updates, optimization opportunities, financial insights, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activities, including solution demonstrations, RFP responses, solution architecture, scoping, and effort estimation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of FinOps methodologies, delivery accelerators, implementation frameworks, and practice assets.
- Stay current with FinOps Foundation standards, cloud pricing models, Cloudability capabilities, and evolving cloud financial management practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–10+ years of experience in IT consulting, cloud, technology financial management, or a related field, including at least 3 years of hands-on Cloudability implementation and administration experience.
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles, Cloud Financial Management, cloud billing, cost allocation, governance, and optimization.
- Experience working with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud billing and cost-management capabilities.
- Experience with IBM Apptio One implementation or administration is highly preferred, along with practical knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM).
- Demonstrated experience leading customer workshops, consulting engagements, implementation projects, and executive-level presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex billing and financial datasets and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Hands-on knowledge of Cloudability features such as business mapping, cost sharing, cost allocation, reporting, dashboards, and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with TBM Taxonomy, cost model design, Cloudability–Apptio One integration, cloud budgeting and forecasting, and multi-cloud financial reporting.
- Experience with AWS Cost & Usage Reports (CUR), Azure Cost Management, SQL, advanced Excel, Power BI or Tableau, REST APIs, and cloud billing data analysis is valuable.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and container cost management, cloud governance frameworks, FinOps maturity assessments, executive reporting, and cloud optimization programs is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Apptio Cloudability, or IBM Apptio One certifications are preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and customer-facing consulting skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and financial teams.
