Job Description

Women's Foundation of Minnesota

SUMMARY

The Wenda Weekes Moore Internship is designed to provide a pathway into the philanthropic sector through training, network building, and professional development opportunities. This experience will explore all functional areas of a statewide community foundation and is designed for an undergraduate college student or a graduate student interested in the philanthropic sector.

We expect the intern to start Fall 2026 and continue through the end of Summer 2027. The intern works approximately 10 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours per week during the summer. This internship can be completed remotely and therefore would be a good opportunity for someone who lives in Greater or Rural Minnesota.

The Wenda Weekes Moore Intern is someone who has a passion or motivation to create change through the mechanisms of systems change. This individual is interested in data projects, as well as surveying the different functional areas of the Foundation through working with each department. The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota takes the long view, setting systemic change in motion to bring about a more equitable and just Minnesota, particularly through the lens of gender and racial justice. The Intern will have an opportunity to gain exposure to all functional areas of the Foundation in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the operations of a community foundation. This exposure will be obtained in ways that best meets the needs of the Intern and the Foundation such as attendance at a committee meeting, working with the participatory grantmaking committee, individual coaching and/or training by a Foundation team member, and/or external training participation. The position is housed under Executive Vice President of People and Culture, has projects in each functional area of the Foundation, and has a project lead for each project.
