Overview

The national offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation (“A Corp”) “PC(USA)”, based in Louisville Kentucky, serve with mid-councils, congregations, worshipping communities, and partner organizations to carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. Approximately 400 individuals, diverse in race, age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, skills, and more, come together as colleagues to work for a world where justice reigns, peace prevails, and God’s love extends to all people. This community comprises the staff of national entities: the Presbyterian Life & Witness, the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, Presbyterian Women, Investment and Loan Program, and the Administrative Services Group.

Basic Commitment: This position calls for a commitment to the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as noted in its theological confessions, the Book of Order, and the actions of the General Assembly.

Purpose of Position:

This position is an individual contributor role responsible for performing a combination of complex to highly complex non-routine duties requiring an intermediate to high degree of technical expertise. Responsibilities generally focus on a specific technical or professional area. Performs duties that support programmatic effectiveness and operational efficiency, such as conducting analyses, developing written materials, managing databases, etc. Collaborates with internal and external partners on projects, initiatives, and communications to support organizational priorities.

Exercises judgment, initiative, and decision-making authority within established guidelines and operates under general supervision.

The position supports the full grant lifecycle, including constituent intake, eligibility determination, review coordination, agreement execution, and payment processing. It exercises independent judgment within established guidelines to support decision-making, ensure accurate execution of processes, and maintain high-quality program data.

This role contributes to programmatic effectiveness by conducting analyses, maintaining databases, supporting reporting and governance activities, and developing documentation to ensure consistency, transparency, and audit readiness.

Roles and Responsibilities (list in order of priority):

  • Support end-to-end grant operations across intake, eligibility review, workflow execution, award processing, agreement execution, and payment coordination.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and consistent program and constituent data across integrated systems.
  • Support program decision-making processes through analysis, documentation preparation, and workflow coordination.
  • Develop and maintain operational tools, reports, dashboards, and process documentation to support program efficiency and oversight.
  • Ensure compliance readiness by maintaining accurate records, supporting audit requirements, and adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate agreement execution and payment processing through designated systems, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation.
  • Support governance processes by maintaining decision logs, risk logs, and contributing to operational review meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support program delivery and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide support for training, documentation updates, and operational knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Exercise independent judgment within established guidelines to resolve issues, escalate risks, and support operational continuity.

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 4-7 years of increasingly responsible related technical or professional experience, preferably in a non-profit or faith-based organization
  • Experience with grant management systems
  • Experience with financial systems

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite (including Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel) and other appropriate software.

Helpful Skills:

  • Have a deep understanding and commitment to cultural and racial ethnic inclusiveness. Values diverse groups, ethnicities, genders, communities, cultural constituencies and points of view. Able to relate well to people from all walks of life and of varying theological perspectives.
  • Ability to speak one or more languages other than English very helpful

Physical Requirements/Essential Functions:

  • This is largely a sedentary position that may require occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, type, write, walk, stand, bend, and lift
  • Sensory and physical requirements include the ability to communicate verbally in person and through technology and use the computer for extended periods of time. Ability to communicate via telephone, via Zoom, and other computer technologies required
  • Able to read and understand written materials.
  • Ability to communicate in a manner suitable to a church office environment
  • May require occasional overnight, out-of-town travel
  • This is a full-time position working a minimum of 5 days per week
  • Work arrangements maybe hybrid or remote
