Job Description

Conexxus, the convenience and retail fuel industry’s non-profit, member-operated technical standards and advocacy organization, seeks a highly motivated Standards & Initiatives Analyst. Working on a virtually based small team and reporting to the Director of Standards, the successful candidate will engage in all facets of standards and trade association activities.

Expected travel: 10% overnight

Office: Remote

Accountabilities:

  • Assist volunteer committees as needed
    • Scheduling meetings
    • Taking meeting minutes
    • Posting content in online workspaces
    • Creating electronic surveys
    • Developing technical documentation
  • Assist with basic website maintenance/user accounts
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts, automations, dashboards, and data-processing tools to support organizational operations and standards development activities
  • Work with technical staff to evaluate, implement, and support emerging AI technologies and workflows
  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of AI-enabled tools, including large language model (LLM) integrations, Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations, workflow automations, and related technologies
  • Research, evaluate, and document new technologies, standards, and industry trends relevant to convenience retail and retail technology
  • Any other activities required by manager and/or organization

People Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline required
  • Foundational understanding of software development principles, data structures, APIs, databases, and system integrations
  • Ability to read, understand, and document technical specifications and business requirements
  • Python programming
  • Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain scripts and small applications
  • Dashboards creation and maintenance and data visualization tools
  • AI and automation technologies
  • Interest in and aptitude for learning emerging AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), AI agents, prompt engineering, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and workflow automation platforms
  • Experience with Git, source control, or collaborative software development tools a plus

Writing/Communication Skills

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Technical writing/documentation experience a plus
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft Office products a plus
  • Survey Monkey knowledge a plus
