Job Description

Why a Sales Specialist?

As a Sales Specialist, you are the face of our business and a key partner in helping customers find the right products and solutions for their projects. In this role, you'll build relationships with customers, provide product recommendations, process sales transactions, and support day-to-day store operations. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to balance sales, service, and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Greet customers and provide fast, friendly, and professional service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Assist customers with product selection and recommendations
  • Process sales transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system
  • Handle cash, credit card, and debit card transactions
  • Process returns and exchanges
  • Conduct regular outreach to existing and prospective customers
  • Answer customer questions and provide product information
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Utilize NetSuite and other systems to support sales activities
  • Assist customers in the yard and warehouse as needed
  • Operate forklifts and equipment on occasion to assist customers and move materials
  • Inspect materials to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
  • Arrive on time and ready to work
What We're Looking For:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • English proficiency (Spanish bilingual skills strongly preferred)
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused attitude with a friendly and energetic personality
  • Point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures preferred
  • Computer knowledge and experience with business systems preferred
  • Forklift and equipment operation experience is a plus
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed onsite at a company store, sales counter, warehouse, and landscape supply yard
  • Combination of indoor customer service and outdoor operational responsibilities
  • Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions while assisting customers in the yard
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting throughout the workday
  • Frequent work around forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and customer service skills
