This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Development Associate based in Canada.

As a Corporate Development Associate, you will play a key role in identifying and developing acquisition opportunities that contribute to long-term business growth. Working within a dynamic M&A environment, you will build relationships with software company founders and executives while managing a strong pipeline of potential acquisitions. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, relationship-driven professional who enjoys working independently, creating new opportunities, and influencing strategic decisions. You'll collaborate with experienced corporate development leaders while taking ownership of your outreach strategy and contributing directly to high-impact transactions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

Accountabilities:
  • Identify, research, and qualify software companies that align with acquisition objectives, building and maintaining a healthy pipeline of potential opportunities.
  • Develop and execute proactive outreach strategies to engage founders, business owners, and senior executives through targeted communication and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Establish long-term, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers while positioning the organization as a preferred acquisition partner.
  • Manage prospect information, outreach activities, and relationship progress using CRM tools, ensuring accurate reporting and pipeline visibility.
  • Continuously improve prospecting methods, outreach effectiveness, and pipeline development processes through innovative ideas and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the acquisition process by providing insights on potential opportunities and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in business development, corporate development, M&A sourcing, sales, or a related client-facing role with a proven ability to generate opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with confidence engaging founders, entrepreneurs, and C-level executives.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage priorities independently and thrive in an autonomous work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience managing pipelines and CRM systems.
  • Solid business acumen and the ability to quickly understand business models, market opportunities, and strategic growth potential.
  • Resilience, professionalism, and a proactive approach to achieving goals while maintaining a high standard of client engagement.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $80,000 CAD, based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Remote work opportunity with flexibility to manage your schedule.
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
  • Supportive, collaborative, and people-focused work environment.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, professional development, and career growth.
  • Long-term career stability within a financially strong organization combined with an entrepreneurial culture.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of software businesses and high-impact strategic acquisition projects.
