People Relations Generalist

Executive: Vice President of Operations

Reports to: Director of People Relations

The People Relations Generalist is a highly visible position that engages with team members at all levels within the company, playing a vital role in supporting the People Relations team. This role requires a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, urgency, and strong presentation and communication skills. Key responsibilities include addressing team member inquiries related to policies, benefits, pay, and onboarding and offboarding processes as well as maintaining accurate and current files, records, and documentation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, hiring processes, and general HR-related questions, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Manage the People Resources email inbox, ensuring timely responses and appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing coordination, and hiring support.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientations for all incoming team members.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including exit interviews, equipment retrieval, and completion of termination procedures.
  • Administer employee benefits processes, including reviewing and approving enrollments for new hires, life events, and open enrollment periods.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and coordinate resolution of discrepancies or required updates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for FMLA inquiries and manage the end-to-end FMLA request, approval, and tracking process.
  • Maintain accurate employee data across HR systems and physical records, ensuring ongoing data integrity and updates.
  • Conduct routine audits (monthly, quarterly, and annual) of HR files and records to ensure compliance and completeness of required documentation.
  • Support compensation processes, including analyzing compensation data, processing salary adjustments in the HRIS, and performing audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinate corporate training activities, including scheduling, tracking participation, maintaining training records, and managing the corporate training hub.
  • Partner with leaders to develop, review, and update job descriptions as roles evolve.
  • Lead and support assigned HR projects and organizational initiatives to ensure successful implementation and execution.
  • Manage the People Resources intranet page by creating and updating content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Participate in internal committees (e.g., Wellness and Community Service Committees), providing support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in People Relations
  • Strong oral and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and working in fast-paced support environments.
  • Frequently required to sit, type, handle small objects, and communicate by phone or in person.
  • Ability to work on in-office projects upon request.
  • Must maintain reliable, fast internet (50Mbps down / 5Mbps up per person)
