Description:

The Construction Site Supervisor in Training (CSiT) is a full-time, hands-on role designed for individuals beginning their career in construction supervision. Over the course of one to two years, the CSiT will gain the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to transition into a Site Supervisor position with Habitat for Humanity of Durham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of home construction and remodeling, ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and to quality standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate volunteers while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive build-site environment.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, staff, and homebuyers to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.
  • Manage site logistics, including scheduling, inspections, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform a wide range of residential construction, maintenance, and skilled trade tasks.
  • Enforce safety protocols and complete necessary documentation to support efficient project operations.
Requirements:
  • 1 to 2 years of residential construction experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Supervising experience and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • Safely operate ladders, construction equipment, and power tools.
