Server Assistant in Lakeway, Texas at Travis Club Management LLC

Position Summary

The Server Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest service by supporting servers, expediting food from the kitchen, maintaining clean and organized dining areas, and ensuring efficient service throughout the guest experience. This position serves as the primary link between the kitchen and the dining area, assisting with food delivery, table maintenance, dining room setup, banquet functions, and overall cleanliness.

This position is performed entirely outdoors and requires the ability to work safely and effectively in high temperatures, direct sunlight, humidity, and varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor and exceptional service standards.

$18.00 Hour / Up to 30 hours per week with potential to go to full time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Assist servers throughout meal service to ensure prompt, attentive, and professional guest experiences.
• Deliver food accurately and efficiently using proper seat positions and service standards.
• Verify all food matches guest orders before leaving the kitchen.
• Serve and refill water as needed.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate concerns or complaints to management.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and club service standards.

Food Running & Service Support

• Expedite plated food from the kitchen to ensure timely service.
• Ensure food presentation meets quality standards by wiping plate rims and checking garnishes before service.
• Assist with bread, soup, condiments, and other food service items.
• Assemble and verify take-out orders for accuracy.
• Maintain stocked and organized service stations throughout each shift.
• Assist in maintaining buffet and banquet food stations.

Table Maintenance

• Clear soiled dishes, glassware, silverware, and linens promptly.
• Reset tables according to club standards.
• Assist with replenishing service supplies as needed.
• Move tables and chairs to accommodate dining and event needs.

Dining Room & Facility Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of all dining areas, patios, service stations, walkways, and adjacent guest areas.
• Clean spills, broken service ware, and hazards immediately while minimizing guest disruption.
• Empty trash and transport soiled dishes and linens to designated areas.
• Keep ice bins, beverage stations, and service areas fully stocked.
• Clean and store high chairs, booster seats, and other dining equipment.
• Ensure storage rooms and service areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.

Banquet & Event Support

• Set up and break down outdoor dining areas, banquet spaces, and special events.
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, flatware, decorations, floral arrangements, lighting, and other event materials according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Prepare coffee stations, buffets, and beverage service areas.
• Verify event setups meet specifications prior to guest arrival.
• Return equipment and linens to designated storage areas following events.
• Prepare event spaces for upcoming functions.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and safe work practices.
• Assist in emergency procedures as directed.
• Report damaged equipment or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and service standards.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend pre-shift meetings and training sessions.
• Assist other departments as needed to support successful operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous restaurant, hospitality, country club, or banquet experience preferred.
• Experience in fine dining or high-volume food service is a plus.

Certifications

• Food Handler/Food Safety Certification (required or obtained within required timeframe).
• TABC Certification (required or obtained within required timeframe).
• Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, stretch, and reach.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
• Safely carry trays, dishware, and restaurant equipment.

Work Environment

This position is performed 100% outdoors in an open-air dining and event environment. Team members are routinely exposed to:

• High temperatures and humidity
• Direct sunlight and prolonged UV exposure
• Wind, rain, and other changing weather conditions
• Uneven walking surfaces
• Loud and fast-paced service environments

Server Assistants must be able to work safely and effectively in outdoor conditions for the duration of their shift while maintaining exceptional guest service, following all heat safety procedures, staying properly hydrated, and wearing the required uniform and sun-protective attire.
