Import Automotive Technician

What You'll Do
The Import Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining import vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards. This role requires advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, proficiency with OEM diagnostic equipment, and the ability to repair and service today's increasingly complex vehicle systems. Technicians work closely with Service Advisors and Parts Associates to ensure accurate diagnoses, efficient repairs, and outstanding customer satisfaction.

- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- Rotating Saturdays
Compensation
- Flat Rate pay plan.
- Annual earning potential of $60,000 - $125,000+, based on experience, productivity, and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair engine, drivetrain, transmission, and electrical system concerns.
- Perform brake, steering, suspension, and HVAC repairs.
- Utilize OEM scan tools and factory diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues.
- Service and repair hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Perform ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and repairs.
- Complete warranty repairs, recalls, and manufacturer campaigns.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend maintenance services.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and factory service information.
- Accurately document repairs, inspections, and completed work orders.
- Collaborate with service advisors and parts personnel to ensure timely vehicle repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing import vehicles.
- Automotive Technology education or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
- Commitment to quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and continuous learning.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must provide and maintain personal technician tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certifications (A1-A8).
- Manufacturer certifications.
- Experience with OEM diagnostic equipment and factory repair procedures.
- Hybrid, electric vehicle, and ADAS repair experience.
