Position Overview

Donlin Gold is seeking an experienced Asset Management / Mine Site Maintenance Manager to lead the development and implementation of maintenance, reliability, and asset management systems that support operational readiness and long-term performance across the Donlin Gold Project.

This leadership role will be responsible for establishing maintenance strategies, reliability programs, asset lifecycle plans, critical spare parts strategies, and work management systems that support both project development and future operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maintainability, reliability, and lifecycle cost optimization are integrated throughout engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.

The position will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Site Services, Health & Safety, Environmental, and EPCM/EPC contractor teams to develop practical maintenance solutions designed for a remote Alaska mining operation.

What You'll Do

Asset Management & Reliability

  • Develop and implement site-wide asset management and maintenance strategies.
  • Establish preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Develop equipment lifecycle management plans and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Lead reliability engineering efforts focused on maximizing equipment availability and minimizing downtime.
  • Support equipment selection and design reviews to ensure maintainability and reliability requirements are incorporated into project execution.
  • Develop maintenance metrics, reliability KPIs, and reporting systems.

Maintenance Planning & Operational Readiness

  • Develop maintenance systems, standards, procedures, and work management processes for future operations.
  • Support implementation and optimization of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Develop critical spare parts programs, inventory strategies, and warehousing requirements.
  • Support maintenance budgeting, labor forecasting, and contractor planning activities.
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, turnover, and operational readiness initiatives.

Mine Site Maintenance Leadership

  • Develop maintenance strategies designed for remote mine site execution.
  • Support maintenance planning for processing facilities, power generation, utilities, camp infrastructure, and critical support systems.
  • Establish maintenance planning, scheduling, shutdown management, and backlog management processes.
  • Develop maintenance workforce structures, trade requirements, rotational coverage plans, and contractor support models.
  • Lead maintenance readiness planning for long-term mine operations.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and lead maintenance and reliability teams supporting project execution and operational readiness.
  • Mentor maintenance planners, supervisors, reliability engineers, and trades personnel.
  • Collaborate with EPCM and EPC contractors to ensure maintenance requirements are integrated into project planning.
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture aligned with Donlin Gold's health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, lockout/tagout requirements, confined space procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and operational readiness evaluations.
  • Support environmental stewardship and responsible resource development practices.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of maintenance, reliability, or asset management experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or oil and gas operations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale mineral processing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing maintenance programs and reliability initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting greenfield project development, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing CMMS platforms and asset management systems.
  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) and/or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) certification.
  • Alaska mining experience.
  • Arctic or remote site operational experience.
  • Pressure oxidation (POX) experience.
  • Experience building maintenance organizations for large-scale mining operations.
